How To Install OpenVPN on Firestick | 20 Simple Steps

This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to install OpenVPN on Firestick.

1. Go to the Firestick home screen and select Settings.
2. Select System > Developer Options.
3. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources.
4. Go back to the Firestick home screen and select the Search icon.
5. Type “Downloader” and select the Downloader app.
6. Select Download.
7. Once the Downloader app has been downloaded, open it.
8. Select OK to allow the app to use your network connection.
9. In the Downloader app, type the following URL and select Go: https://www.openvpn.net/index.php/download/community-edition.html
10. Scroll down and select the Android option.
11. Select the ARM option.
12. Select the OpenVPN Connect app.
13. Select Install.
14. Once the installation has been completed, select Open.
15. In the OpenVPN app, select the menu icon in the top-left corner.
16. Select Import.
17. Select the openvpn file you downloaded earlier.
18. Select Import.
19. Select the VPN connection you want to use.

How To Install OpenVPN on Amazon FireStick

1. Go to the search bar on your Amazon Fire Stick and type in “downloader.”

Possible Problems/Solutions

-If you get the following error: “This app can’t open. The item you’ve tried to open can’t be found. Check the spelling and try again,” you need to enable unknown sources. To do this, go to the Settings app on your Amazon Fire Stick and click on the Security & Privacy tab. Then, toggle the switch next to “Unknown Sources” to the On position and click on the OK button.

-If you can’t connect to the VPN Unlimited server, make sure you are using the correct server address and that your VPN Unlimited login credentials are correct.

-If you get the following warning: “The connection is insecure. Do you want to continue?” click on the Yes button to continue.
